Week 6 - Painting the PHR

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Post Human Republic are the ruthless hyper-intelligent members of those parts of humanity that fled before the coming of the Scourge.  Influenced by an alien device that came to warn the Earth of the invasion they are a shadowy enclave of women and men who have decided to rise above the influence of pure nature and enhance themselves with the power of the machine.

In battle they are a slow and steady, a relentless march of sophisticated walkers and cyber-enhanced infantry. A mix of cyborgs from Ghost in the Shell and the special Ops of Black Widow they are elite core of technophiles, a near perfect blending of man and machine.

They believe that they are the future of humanity - they are humankind, 2.0.

I've focused initially on getting many of their gorgeous Dropships painted with a bit of work on the hyper-detailed (good grief!) walkers. This will be a slower army to paint than the scourge due to a fundamental difference on how the details can and will be handled. Whereas the Scourge are large plated surfaces covered in a Giger-esque layer of organic webbing these are endless stream of cables, wiring and fine detailed overlapping metal plates.

They have been both a joy and a nightmare (of detail) to paint. I think both armies, standing across the table from each other, will be impressive on the field showing lots of different painting techniques (they rely much more heavy on detailing and oil washes) and different tones and colours.

Soon I hope to be able to push up some battle reports with these! In the meantime here are a couple of group shots with more works in progress seen at the bottom.

Medium Dropships deliver their payload of deadly walkers.

Light Dropships spill out cyber-enhanced infantry.

The first of my walkers, a Menchit class anti-infantry nightmare of machine guns and a flamethrower.
